Mike Jobes
Principal
Since joining Miller Hull in 2000 and as a Principal since 2008, Mike has been lead designer and project manager on a range projects with a specialized focus on civic and community projects. Prior to joining Miller Hull, Mike worked for five years at Frank Gehry and Associates in Los Angeles and applies the experimental design process he learned in that office to enhance the exploration that has been a hallmark of Miller Hull since its inception.
Mike received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1994 and a Master of Architecture degree in 2001 both from Washington State University (WSU). During his time in Pullman, Mike worked with Professor Paul Hirzel on the Canyon House that received a 2004 Washington State AIA Honor Award. In 2001, Mike published a study of locally-driven place-based tourism within the State Route Twenty-Six Corridor in Southeast Washington State from which his design for The SR 26 Motel received a Southwest Washington Merit Award.
Mike's academic involvement as a frequent studio critic and lecturer at WSU and the University of Washington, his service on the Advisory Council for the School of Architecture and Construction Management at WSU and his role as Internship Coordinator at Miller Hull continually infuses the design discourse at Miller Hull with fresh ideas.
