A series of programming workshops and discussions identified nearly 110,000 gross square feet of building area
to accommodate the projected science program needs for the next 20 years. The new Biology & Chemistry building
defines the edge of a new science courtyard on campus.
Science Program spaces include highly flexible teaching and research laboratories, including specialty support spaces for an NMR, laser research, and an animal suite. Student study spaces and two 50-seat tiered lecture halls complement the science programs and anchor an open circulation stair that flows through the building linking all levels.
