Location
The Boeing Cafeteria
The Duwamish River waterfront is the setting for the Boeing Development
Center Cafeteria. This structure serves Boeing airline employees
and doubles as a reception center for visiting dignitaries.
The structure is built in a secure area of the main Boeing Complex
and is a part of a newly created linear park along the waterway.
The 10,000 s.f. cafeteria is constructed of concrete and painted exposed
steel with extensive glazing to take advantage of the natural light
and views west to the Duwamish River. Solar control is achieved
by shading the west elevation with roof overhangs and filtering
the sun through the steel structure.
