America's Cup Harbor: Kettenburg Boatyard
This renovation of the historic Kettenburg Marine Boatyard includes three new
industrial buildings totalling 13,000 square feet. The project is a part of the Port of
San Diego’s efforts to open the waterfront to the public. The buildings were conceived
as a modern interpretation of industrial sheds but open to the views and site instead of
internally oriented. The buildings contain a mix of uses including multiple yacht sales
offices, marina support facilities, a walk-up deli and administrative offices. A public
plaza provides public amenities, including a promenade that runs the length of the site at
the water’s edge.
