Olympic College Shelton
The Olympic College Shelton satellite campus was developed thanks
to generous community support and in-kind donations, and will meet
the needs of the growing student population in southern Mason County.
Environmentally conscious "green architecture" strategies were used
in both site planning and building design. The result is the beginning
of a campus that is ecologically sound and derives its character
from the existing naturally wooded setting.
The project will be developed in phases so that growth can occur
as the college needs to expand. The master plan established guidelines
for all phases of growth, so that the final campus layout is a unified
whole whose individual parts play an important role in the identity
of the College.
Miller|Hull has completed Phase I which involves the design and
construction of the initial 8,000 sf building housing classrooms,
administrative spaces and a daycare center. In Phase II, as the
College grows, a second building (20,000 sf) is planned which will
contain additional instructional and administrative space.
