The Miller|Hull Partnership was selected by the Northwest Maritime Center Organization to prepare a Conceptual Facility Design for their proposed Maritime Center located in Port Townsend. The Northwest Maritime Center will be a multi-purpose facility offering a variety of maritime and visitor services, including maritime educational programs, small boat building and boat restoration demonstration areas, outdoor commons area, large conference rooms, as well as on-the-water activities for residents and visitors alike.

The Conceptual Facility Design proposes two independent buildings placed on the site: The Maritime Resource and Heritage Building along the west side of the site, and The Maritime Education Building along the north side of the site. The two buildings form an Outdoor Commons Area that provides public access to the waterfront beach to the south, and affords views across Port Townsend Bay of the entire Cascade Mountain Range.
